Hereford chairman: No-one is happy with our current position and I understand the frustration

Hereford chairman Chris Ammonds has said nobody is happy with the club's current position - with the Bulls just four places above the relegation zone and eight points from the play-offs.

After Tuesday's 3-0 defeat at struggling Oxford City, a side without a win and clean sheet for two months, Stig tweeted that he was "thoroughly deflated after a good opening 40 minutes".

"Massive thank you to the travelling support," he added. "Great numbers once again.

"No-one is happy with our current position, so I completely understand the frustration being felt.

"We will all be doing all we can to make it better."

Meanwhile, manager Paul Caddis also felt Hereford were dominant for the majority of the first half, until the turning point of Matt Preston's sending off and the opening goal for the hosts.

During his interview, he added: "I understand the role which it's going to come with criticism. I absolutely get it. All I can say is I will continue trying my very best to bring as much success [as] we can at the football club.

"Talk is cheap, got to start acting on it. We have to get better. It definitely is the toughest period I've had since I've come in. It's been all good moments.

"I wasn't brought up with a silver spoon in my mouth. I've worked from day one. I won't stop and I'll keep going."

Hereford, 19th in the league with 16 points from 15 games, now face another struggling side as bottom club Southport visit Edgar Street on Saturday.

With the team training on Thursday evening, Bulls fans will be hoping for a much better performance and more resolute defending to try and keep alive fading hopes of a top-seven position, as would have been most fans' expectation four months ago.

Hereford have been guilty of leaking goals with their only clean sheet of the Enterprise National League North season so far being in the 2-0 win over Alfreton on 30th August.
