National North League Preview

This from the National League:

We're almost done with August and we're starting to get a better idea about the Enterprise National League North runners and riders.

Only one side - South Shields - have their 100% record in tact going into this weekend and they have only conceded once!

It's been a rip-roaring start for Ian Watson who now has Buxton to contend with.

Free-scoring Chorley are the only other side in the division yet to lose a game.

The 16 goals notched by the Magpies is more than any other side in the top six levels of English football so far this season - they had to Leamington.

Two sides unbeaten and also two sides yet to register their first win.

AFC Telford United are one of those with Spennymoor Town up next - the other is bottom side Peterborough Sports who head to Marine.

The Mariners' had their two-game win streak ended by Alfreton Town on Monday which was a first win of the season for Billy Heath's side who head to Hereford who are winless in two at home so far.

AFC Fylde are looking good at home to this point and Bedford Town are next up at Mill Farm.

Worksop Town have found the winning formula of late - the Tigers have notched back-to-back wins against Southport and Peterborough Sports respectively.

Chester head to Nottinghamshire looking for their first away win of the season.

Scarborough are not phased by playing away from their Sports Village home and welcome Southport to Bridlington looking to make it three wins from three home games.

Curzon Ashton host Kidderminster Harriers while Radcliffe make the trip to the south west to face Oxford City looking for consecutive wins for the first time since February.

John Rooney was stunned by his ten-man Macclesfield's battling performance against Spennymoor Town on Monday - Darlington are in town next for the Silkmen.

King's Lynn Town are going well and will be desperate to keep their unbeaten home run in tact - but Merthyr Town have a perfect away record they want to preserve too.
