News round up

Reece Staunton, right, with Chay Tilt at the Brewery Field last season

Spennymoor Town defender Reece Staunton has moved to League Two outfit Grimsby Town for an undisclosed fee. The move comes on the back of two excellent seasons in a Moors shirt during which he made 98 appearances for the club in all competitions, a statement said.

He was a treble player of the year winner during his debut season at The Brewery Field after arriving in the summer of 2023 following a spell at Bradford (Park Avenue). Spennymoor said they made the talented 23-year-old an improved offer in a bid to keep him in the North East into the 2025/26 campaign, but he has now opted to take up the chance to move into the Football League.

Hereford have now sold 800 season tickets. The final day to pay in instalments is today (Friday 20th June) and early bird prices will end at the end of the day on June 30.

Leamington have announced popular central defender Rob Evans has agreed terms for the upcoming 25/2026 season.

Evans, who also filled in at right back on occasions last season, and was named Media Team Player of the Season, made 46 appearances to add to the dozen he made the previous season after signing from Halesowen Town in March last year.

Former Hereford forward Pablo Haysham has been retained by Abingdon United. The Oxfordshire club, who were promoted to step five'sb Combined Counties League Premier Division North via the play-offs last season, are managed by Haysham's former teammate John Mills.

The popular duo helped Hereford achieve three consecutive promotions after reforming.

Isaac Sinclair has joined League Two Accrington Stanley from Curzon Ashton on a two-year contract. Sinclair rejoined The Nash in the summer of 2023, following a three-year spell at Bamber Bridge, and contributed to 16 goals upon returning to the Tameside Stadium.

The 23-year-old made 40 appearances in 2023/24 and found the back of the net on seven occasions, with a further nine goal contributions across 2024/25, as Craig Mahon's side finished seventh and eighth in the NLN respectively.

Jacob Holland-Wilkinson has left Chorley and joined step five's Ramsbottom United ahead of the new season. Described as a talented forward, the club said the 22-year-old was a product of the academy at Preston North End before being signed by Stoke City and playing in their under-21 side.

A season at Lancaster City then brought three goals from 21 appearances in the Northern Premier League and the Ramsbottom local is now looking forward to helping the club achieve its targets this coming season.
