Six Points For Hereford Women

Two games for Hereford Women and a return of six points. Not bad for an afternoon's work.

Here's our report:

Hereford headed to Evesham to play a double header against Worcester United.

Each game was made up of two 30minute halves.

The first game saw Hereford struggle to break down a Worcester team that sat deep in their own half, looking to catch Hereford on the break.

Chance after chance came and went and the Hereford front line failed to capitalise on their dominance.

Hannah Pritchard saw red late in the first half after an altercation with the Ref.

Second half with Darcy Smith now between the sticks was more of the same, chance after chance was missed upfront and Worcester creating very little.

With just minutes remaining Sheree Smith came on to make and instant impact scoring from a wide position.

FT Worcester 0-1 Hereford

Second Game:

Worcester set up again looking to defend deep but were undone by an early headed corner by Yssie Pearson, this forced Worcester to open up and try to push forward which created more chances for a wasteful Hereford.

A simple back pass to Pritchard whose was now back in goal turned into a nightmare mix up and Worcester drew level

With added confidence Worcester now pushed forward opening themselves up at the back, within just a few minutes and helped by a Smith penalty  Hereford were 4-1 up and cruising. The two goals scored by Pearson and Griffiths.

FT Hereford 4-1 Worcester

Not a great performance, the pitch was very small, the grass was very long and the opposition parked the bus, but 6 points puts Hereford back to the top of the league with three games in hand over 2nd place Ross and one in hand over 3rd place Kingfisher.
