Southport Kick-Off Confirmed As 3PM

Hereford's game against Southport on Saturday will kick-off at 3pm.

The floodlight which failed before Christmas has been repaired.

It appears the cable serving the particular floodlight failed.

Local company CF Roberts was called in to replace the cable.

It's also been revealed that new LED bulbs will be used on the existing towers fot the next home game which is on February 1st.

"Starting on Monday our new LED bulbs are going to be installed to the current pylons as an interim measure to take us through to the end of the season," said chairmam Chris Ammonds.

"One of the issues we faced was to install new floodlight pylons involves taking a crane across the pitch. This time of year the pitch can get pretty damp, we would have to lay a load of track down for the crane to drive from the Blackfriars End to the MeadowEnd.

"There is agreement now that the contractor will install the new LED bulbs to the current pylons as a short term measure. It will see us through to the end of the season with proper floodlights.

"Then we can address the issue of the full installation come the closed season. That work can take place before Ben (Bowen) starts his pitch refurbishment.

"The work should only take two, three, four days and that should take us to the end of the season without any further concerns."
