Five Hurt In Trouble After Radcliffe Game

As reported yesterday there was trouble after the end of the game at Radcliffe.

This from the Manchester Evening News:

Five people were injured after a brawl broke out outside Radcliffe FC's ground. Police swarmed the area surrounding Neuven Stadium, off Colshaw Close East, at 5pm on Saturday (January 26).

Greater Manchester Police says five people were treated at the scene for injuries, while one man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker. One police officer was also injured but did not require treatment.

Greater Manchester Police said they are continuing with their enquiries to identify other culprits.

Footage circulating on social media showed a large police presence on a street close to the ground, with several police vans and cars in attendance. At least one ambulance was also at the scene.

Separate footage appeared to show a number of men involved in an altercation, with punches being thrown. The incident came moments after Radcliffe FC played Hereford in a 3pm kick-off, with the match ending in a 3-2 home win.

A GMP spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a fight on Colshaw Close East, Radcliffe, at 5pm yesterday (Saturday, January 25 2025). Upon arrival, the disturbance was quickly deescalated, and a man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker.

"Thankfully the officer wasn’t seriously injured. Five people reported minor injuries and were treated at the scene. Enquiries to establish any further offences or concerned individuals is ongoing."

Information about the incident can be passed on to GMP online or by calling 101, quoting log number 2212 of January 25, 2025. Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
