A recent Bulls News article quoted Kidderminster Harriers manager Phil Brown ahead of the game on Boxing Day  "I’m looking forward to it… it was one of the venues I visited as a young man, a 19-year-old footballer. I can’t remember the last time I was there, it must be a long, long time ago"

Brown played at Edgar Street for Hartlepool United most seasons in the early to mid 1980's, his first appearance being a 3-0 win for Hereford on the 28th February 1981, the following season he was sent off in a 1-1 draw, but digging through the archives his last appearance at Edgar Street was for Halifax Town on the 27th February 1988 in a Division Four game.

The Bulls won that game 2-1 with goals from Gary Stevens and Steve Spooner. Brown is wearing the number 2 shirt in the below photograph when Stevens heads in the opener.

You can watch the two Hereford goals from the game from the 9 minute mark to 10 minutes 17 seconds below, with Don Cooke announcing the scorers on the PA from the below 1988 shooting gallery video.
