Jason Cowley And Yusifu Ceesay Were Named As Substitutes
Hereford striker Jason Cowley was named as a substitute this afternoon but he didn't come off the bench
After the game assistant manager Adam Rooney explained why.
"We had Cowley on the bench who has been missing since pre-season, probably four or five months, and he's got back in last week.
"The voice of the medical team and ourselves was that he's probably high risk of doing a muscle injury.
"He's a little bit tight here and there so it was hoped we wpuld get through the game and not use him so we can keep him for going forward in the league.
"We know how important he is to the team, his energy, we lacked that today myself included, his desire.
"He's just horrible to play against.
"He's a very important part of our team and he sets the tempo up there.
"We lacked him today but we felt in the long run it would probably silly to try and play him through if he's a little bit tight. If he did a hamstring he would be out for six or seven weeks and we would be paying the price long term."
