A new addition to the 1973-74 Hereford United programme was a short piece in each edition focusing on the players.
One member of the squad who has lost none of his timing is the wonderful Dudley Tyler, who was guest of honour at Saturday's home game with King's Lynn, celebrating his 80th birthday. The 8 is surely a typo though, looking at the photo below:
For those fans lucky enough to be in the hospitality suite before the game, Dudley gave a masterclass in conveying what football means. It was the most emotional and spellbinding speech that every person in the room will remember for a long time.
He was presented with a Tyler 80 shirt on the pitch at half time, giving him the perfect opportunity to prove he can still walk on water.
There are plenty of legends in this line up though. Players that featured during the season that are not included in the below roll call were in order of number of appearances; Ken Mallender, Jim Hinch, David Jenkins, Peta Ba'lac, Fred Potter, Paul Taylor.
