Despite spending some time with the referee after the game, Hereford manager Paul Caddis said that he wasn't blaming the referee for the result.
Chorley won the game 1-0 and probably deserved the points. But there were several yellow cards dished out including one for Caddis.
"I just think they (the officals) lacked the understanding, we just want them to understand the match they are officiating, the teams they are officiating, do some research on the teams.
"We knew Chorley would come and styful us.
"I'm not blaming the referee for today's result, Chorley came and made it difficult for us and done a job on us.
"The most baffling thing is I've asked why I've been booked, I've got booked for shouting referee, because I went 'ref'.
"That genuine what he just told me and I said with all due respect if that's what we are going down now, might as well we all pack in.
"But let's not talk about the referee, I thought we a bit off it today to be honest.
"We knew the strengths of Chorley were long throws and second balls. We got done with a throw in.
"We were disappointed with the first contact, then the feed on at the back post.
"I think we just lacked a bit today and that's me being honest, it's not me being critical of the players.
"Sometimes you have got to hold your hands up and say Chorley came and do a job.
"They had a helping hand in that the referee and officals allowed the game to be stop start, stop start.
"It was frustrating at times because we wanted to play quickly when we won fouls.
"But when we were getting fouls the referee was standing in front of the ball.
"It was a frustrating afternoon, I'm frustrated myself, the players are frustrated."
