I'm Pleased With The Result Said Caddis

The performance wasn't great but the result was as far as Hereford manager Paul Caddis felt after yesterday's 2-1 win at Southport.

"I'm just pleased with the result," he said.

"I don't care if we are rubbish now for the next ten games if we go and win seven, eight of them so be it.

"I think we performed well in large parts of the game, I think we controlled the games but didn't hurt them enough. I don't think we played enough balls forward.

"The plan was to keep possession and try and frustrate them because we knew when they got it they would try and go forward, they would try to be quite physical.

"They did at times, they got a lot of corners in the early part of the game.

"In between both boxes we were better but we wanted to go forward more, we started to recognise that problem in the middle part of the first half and gained a bit more control."

Keith Hall asked Caddis who was claiming the first Hereford goal.

"I don't know!

"I've heard Cowls say that he's claiming it.

KH: Cowley was never near it surely?

"I know, Cowls nearly beside me I think. I don't know, I don't even know what happened.

"Cowls has headed it and the boy has made a great save and then it's broke back in (Downing) .

"It came from a corner as well, which is pleasing.

"Just to get in front and go in at half time one up was the aim. It was something we wanted to try and do, get in front and try to frustrate people."
