A Game Of Two Halves Said Caddis.

In his post match interview last night Hereford manager Paul Caddis felt the game against Chester had been one of two halves.

"Yes it was," said Caddis.

"First half I thought we were a bit off it.

"I thought we were lacked a bit of intensity, not just physically, technically we were a bit careless. Touch was a bit off, we looked jaded at times.

"But clearly we weren't jaded because second half we were excellent.

"It was a game of two halves.

"We didn't feel under great pressure first half, that was the thing we tried to get across to the players as well. We were just disappointed we lacked a little bit of intensity.

"One of their coaching staff said to me as soon as the game had finished the intensity you play at as a part time football club is ridiculous. It's nice to hear things like that.

"We don't get the players that often. We had them Saturday then we don't see them again until tonight.

"Chester stayed in the Green Dragon last night, they were probably better prepared than we were.

Update 7pm: Chester has said they did not have an overnight stay.

"Overall the bigger picture is last week we played against a team that we fourth in the National League (Gateshead), full time team. We then played against Tamworth who are 12 points ahead in this division. We got a point and didn't concede.

"And then a point against a really good well drilled team."

Chester took the lead in the 13th minute when Pond appeared to drop the ball and it landed up in the back of the net. Some thought he had been obstructed. Caddis thought it was very soft.

"An individual mistake, no point dressing it up, an individual mistake."

However Hereford were awarded a penalty in the second half and Andy Williams scored from it to level the game.

"It was a pull on Paul Downing I think.

"The Ref has almost given the heads up to the player like put your hands down type of thing.

"And the ball just come out and he's still gripping him.

"Fair play to the Ref for spotting it because not a lot of people spot those things but I think it was the fact that he had his eye on it from the beginning and it was a bit careless.

"I didn't see the penalty so I don't know what it was like but I heard it wasn't quite as clear as everybody thought it was going to be.

"But we got the goal."
