Early Goal Always Helps Said Babos

Alex Babos spoke to the media after yesterday's FA Cup tie at Edgar Street. The Hereford midfielder, who was the sponsor's man of the match, scored from a free kick early in the game which he said always helps.

"I think everybody knew the pressure was heavily on us today but it always helps when you get a goal early on," said Babos.

"I think we saw that early on, we saw that in the last round against Anstey. Thankfully the same happened today.

"Over recent weeks we've been wanting to play more football. I think today there was a bit more intent to keep the ball and it move around and be a bit more patient in possession.

"Ceesay (three goals in three games) is a livewire, you never know what's coming next with him."

"I think if you look back to that spell when we lost four in a row we actually played alright, so there wasn't that lack of belief, may be just a little bit of confidence because the results weren't coming, but we still felt we were playing well.

"Now you flip that the other way and we've won four in five. With winning games comes momentum, comes confidence and it translates onto the pitch.

"Paul Downing has come in and been a calming influence, he's like a Rolls-Royce back there.

"We're still a fairly new squad compared with the rest of the league and we only have four hours a week together so it was always going to take time for us to gel but I think it's coming together now.

"The difficulty is if you have a game Saturday and a game Tuesday you can't really go hell for leather on a Thursday as well. Those weeks are almost written off completely.

"We've got a nice little break now where we can work on stuff Tuesdays and Thursdays."
