Visitors Rushall Olympic dominated much of the game and the Bulls were forced to soak up pressure, but a penalty at the end of the first half was converted by Jordan Cranston.
Into the second half, it was much of the same with Pond called into action with a handful of impressive saves to keep Hereford's slender lead intact.
The 22 Rushall fans will be travelling back no doubt feeling cheated, with Hereford lucky to hold onto the 1-0 score line and get all three points.
