Willo Gets Off The Mark

Andy Williams scored twice for Hereford in their pre-season friendly at Pegasus this afternoon.

Afterwards the captain for the game spoke to the local media.

"It was good," said Williams who officially joined the Bulls from Walsall earlier today.

"Obviously it's still pre-season so we've had a tough couple of days training as well in the build up to it.

"It was nice to get 45 minutes in the legs.

"I think it was a decent performance from the boys considering Nathan has just joined us today and a couple of the other lads have only trained once or twice.

"So it was nice to put everything together for 45 minutes.

"We haven't had a lot of time to work on actual team shapes, a lot has been fitness and hard work and general football but not as a team, as a unit.

"It was nice to put things together and we've started to work out each other's games, it was a good test for everyone."

Willo scored the opening goal of pre-season.

"Yes, it's always nice to get on the score sheet.

"It probably wasn't the greatest strike ever but it's nice to get off the mark again, hopefully one of many more to come."

Willo also scored Hereford's second, a rebound from a saved penalty.

"I told Cowley he wouldn't normally be having the penalty but I wanted him to get off the mark as well. He's cemented himself for not having the penalty next time. Thankfully it came straight to me and I managed to put it in."

Is Willo eyeing any penalty at Edgar Street?

"Yes for sure, I was on them all last season, I only managed to have one which was annoying but it went in the net.

"I think Stan fancied it as well.

"We'll worry about the arguement when it comes."

How is your partnership developing with Cowley?

"It's early days, we'll only had a couple of training sessions when we've really played together.

"He's a good lad, he'll work hard, I'll do the same. I think we'll be a nuisance to defenders."

Willo isn't a fan of astro turf and he is looking forward to being at Edgar Street next Saturday when West Brom under 21's are the opposition.

"All of our football has been on astro turf so far, obviously there are going to be a few games like that this season.

"I'll be looking forward to getting on the grass at Edgar Street next week."
