During his post match interview Adam Rooney spoke about how he had arrived at Hereford.
"As soon as the season finished the gaffer was in touch with me and asking about my plans for next season," said Rooney.
The assistant manager said he wanted to do more coaching.
"It's a side of the game I wanted to get involved in."
He said that his views on the game were very similar to manager Paul Caddis.
"Our principles in terms of football and what we want to see on the pitch and what we expect from the lads are very similar.
"We get on well but we'll probably fall out at some stage over the season when he doesn't play me and I want to play!
"I've come here in the past, a pre-season friendly, an FA Cup game, or in the league. I've always enjoyed the atmosphere.
"It's a big club. It needs to be back to where it used to be.
"If we can get the fans behind us and get a good atmosphere it's a brilliant place for players to come and play football. It's one of the big draws we have when we are trying to sign players.
"We've got 1100 season tickets sold and if we can keep adding to that before the start of the season it will be a great place to come and play football.
"I played here about the fourth game before the end of the season and even though the club was in a low position in the league the fans still got behind the team.
"I think it was a 2-2 draw with Brackley and the fans were right behind the team and that's massive.
"That's going to be huge throughout the season if we can make this a difficult place for teams to come.
"That would be a massive advantage for us."
