Yesterday Hereford FC revealed that it has a new chairman and later he spoke to BN.
Our first question to Chris Ammonds was what had made him take the job.
"Good question," said Ammonds.
"I just thought why not give it a go.
"Over the past two or three weeks there has been a few conversations going on and I was approached about whether I would give some consideration to joining the board in the first instance.
"I spoke to my wife about it, had a good conversation with her, and she said do you know what if you say no at this point in time, which would have been an easy thing to do, you will probably spend the next two years of your life thinking what would have happened if you had said yes. So why not give it a go.
"So I thought yes why not give it a go.
"I can sit in the main stand and moan about things or I could perhaps give it a go so that's what I've decided.
"Taking on the chair position is a decision that's made by the board on mass and they've decided that they want to put me forward.
"I'm going to take it as a compliment in the first instance and then we'll go from there. I'm looking forward to giving it a go."
Long time supporter Ammonds was very involved with the set up of Hereford FC.
"I've been coming here for fourty years watching football and Hereford FC has never felt any different to Hereford United to me.
"I've always had exactly the same feelings of anger, frustration and happiness watching Hereford FC as I had when I used to watch Hereford United. It's a special place for me.
"I was heavily involved in the formation of Hereford FC after the demise of Hereford United so I know a lot about it.
"I think I've already got good relationships with a lot of people here.
"I like to think people know I'm a fairly genuine character and I'm motivated to try and make a bit of a difference.
"I know we've plateaued at this level but it's really difficult level of football and there are a lot of clubs who can chuck a lot more money at it than we can.
"So it's not really surprising in some ways that we've plateaued here.
"Now we've got to find a way of kicking on again and moving the club forward.
"It's not going to be easy, I'm not kidding myself that it's going to be straight forward and easy but just because you haven't got the biggest budget in the league why can't you have a good go.
"You look at all levels of football, there are some teams with lesser budgets who are going really well and there are some teams with massive budgets who are not.
"All I want to see from a football prospective is a group of players out on the pitch that I feel are doing all they can, doing their very best for the Hereford shirt and that's what I want to see."
