Defender Zac Lilly was Hereford's man of the match this afternoon and afterwards he spoke to the local media.
Keith Hall suggested it had been a bruising battle.
"I think it always is with Alfreton," said Lilly.
"I think the start of the season we draw 1-1 and it was a very similar game.
"They are hard to break down, it's a battle every time."
Striker Matt Rhead leads their line.
"Yan gave us our instructions on how to deal with him because we know he's big and physical ane he likes to flick things on.
"He gave us a game plan and we went out and did it and I think we did it quite well.
"Obviously the clean sheet is a bonus, that's what we aim for every game.
"I think we did well in parts, when we got it down and started to play around them.
"After we beat their initial first press and put together two or three passes then we could get down the sides and start playing a bit more.
"You can win games two ways, you can have a spark and something comes off or you can play the way we want to play.
"We've got Miles and Tyrone coming back as we've been struggling with only one striker, it's been a bit hard.
"If we couldn't win today we're not going to lose so it's the best result from that point of view."
Liily is pleased to be playing again after a long spell side-lined.
"You just want to play football, that's what you want to do, get your minutes in and have good performances."
How did you get injuried?
"I did two lots of ligaments in my ankle which put me out for, between the game at Three Bridges and Farsley which was my starting game back, four months.
"It's been hard to get back into it because of fitness and stuff but I feel like I've got back to my playing standard now."
