He was with the club from 1989 to 2007.
After leaving Edgar Street he became secretary of Bedlington Terriers.
Later was assistant manager to Trevor Benjamin at Morpeth Town.
This from BN dated July 30th 2007:
Lawrence Appleby, the former Bulls kitman who would make 550 mile round trips to Edgar Street for match days, has joined Bedlington Terriers as their Secretary.
Despite living, and working full time, in Newcastle Lawrence would travel the country to meet the team coach on away days and rarely missed a match for the Bulls during a long association with the club. He had also played for the club - once, for a 'few seconds' - in a friendly at Newcastle Town after Ian Bowyer named him on the bench.
He had previously been Secretary at Gateshead, and also had a spell as Manager and Chairman at Darlington Cleveland in the Teeside League five years before Graham Turner took over similar roles at the Bulls.
