The annual general meeting of the Hereford United Supporters Trust took place last night at the Richmond Club, just opposite the football ground.
HUST had asked the club if the meeting could take place at Edgar Street but were initially told they would be charged somewhat more than the Richmond Club. Later after all the arrangements had been made, the club changed their mind and said they could hold the meeting at Edgar Street free of charge.
HUST chairman Richard Tomkins took the meeting. The three HUST members who are on the HFC main board, Joanie Roberts, Tony Taylor and Mike Langford were in attendance along with 15 other HUST members.
The chairman gave his report in which he said that HUST were just £9,000 short of the £289,000 needed to complete the purchase of 50% of the HFC shareholding.
"To move forward as a genuinely co-operative venture we need equality in Director numbers on the club board."
Currently HUST have three directors on the seven strong board.
"Having demonstrated our commitment by raising funds the funds to match that initial investment, the Supporters Trust deserves equality in the Club boardroom."
Last year's AGM minutes were approved.
Three directors have stood down from the HUST board. They are Peter Sell, Jamie Howard and Michael Sessarego. However two new directors were approved, Simon Wright and Justin Ratcliffe. They join Richard Tomkins, Tony Taylor, Joanie Roberts, Mike Langford and Mark Nottingham in a board of seven.
Tony Taylor then went through the HUST accounts to 31st May 2022.
After several years affected by Covid, the latest accounts show an operating surplus of £30K, £29K of which was passed on to the club in return for shares.
Current HUST membership is 362.
After the main business was concluded the meeting turned to questions and answers.
