Pinchard Has Got That Quality Said Gowling

Hereford manager Josh Gowling spoke to the local media after putting Bromley out of the FA Cup.

Keith Hall started by asking Gowling whether he thought 'in his wildest dreams' he could win the cup tie?

"Yes I did to be fair," said Gowling.

"We looked at them through the week and we looked at areas we thought we could exploit, I don't think we did that well enough in the first half.

"But when we grips with them in the second half I thought we did really well.

"We knew Bush (Ex Hereford United) was going to play with his long throw. We knew we had to deal with set-plays, long throws.

"We knew if we stuck to that we had a chance of winning the game. Happy.

"You can see why they are where they are in the league above because of the way they play. They are direct, they've got players willing to have a battle. Their wide lad who played wing back was excellent. So they've got some real quality.

"But we weathered the storm and we thought coming out second half, coming down the slope a little bit with the wind with us we might have a bit more luck and we did."

Harry Pinchard's goal was from a free kick.

"He's got that quality. We've put him in a different role from the number 10 he started this season and I think he's come to life out wide. He drives well, he drifts in well, he holds the ball well for us and he's a dead ball specialist. His free kicks are excellent, his corners are excellent."

Another new keeper this afternoon, Dale Eve. He had a couple of different moments in the first half but looked very confident in the second.

"He's a confident boy. His handling was excellent. When they delivered balls in he came and caught a few.

"I thought the turning point in the game was when we went 1-0. I thought from that moment, no disrespect to the ref but he made every decision for them. He gave them impetus. Every little knock or every little coming together he seemed to give them a free kick. It changed the momentum of the game a little bit."
