Hereford chairman Jon Hale has told BBC Hereford and Worcester that having Portsmouth at Edgar Street in the first round of the FA Cup is 'a wondeful tie'.
It's not known as yet if the game will be televised but if so that would bring £67,000 into the club.
"We're really privileged to have a big club like Portsmouth coming to Edgar Street.
"Already it's created a lot of interest so we can't wait.
"I think there were only three or four big clubs in there and obviously with their history in the FA Cup and ours as well it couldn't really be a bigger tie for us.
"We're really hopeful that we'll have a full house and we're going to beat them, why not?
"Hopefully this will attract as naer to capacity as we can possibily get it. Portsmouth are very well supported at home and away so we'll hope for a sell out of the away.
"And I'm sure all Hereford fans, young or old, near or far, will want to be at this one because it's a huge game .
"And who is to say we couldn't cause another massive upset."
