Hereford chairman Jon Hale and general manager Jamie Griffiths met officials from Hereford Council at Edgar Street yesterday.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss an extension to the lease on Edgar Street and what to do with the Blackfriars End of the ground which is currently not used.
The current lease runs out in 2030. As it is such a short lease the club can not apply for funding for projects such as a new stand or upgraded floodlights.
"We are delighted to have met with senior officials and to see their obvious willingness to discuss the options for extending the lease on Edgar Street," said Hale.
“Importantly, there seems to be a joint appetite to start making some progress with the Blackfriars End, which it is clear from the recent supporter’s survey, is something that everyone would welcome to help move our club forward.”
Another meeting is planned for before Christmas.
