Hereford Samaritans based in Berrington Street in Hereford are celebrating our 50th anniversary this year. We have 100 telephone volunteers who man the phones 24/7.
The aim of Samaritans nationally is to support people who are in emotional distress and despair and who are not coping with the pressures of life, some of the calls we take from people are extremely sad and difficult and include people who are considering ending their lives by suicide. The Hereford branch takes around 2,000 calls a month supporting people, this has increased significantly during the pandemic, we get no government support financially so need your help. We will be doing a bucket collection to support Hereford branch on Friday 15th April at the AFC Telford Game, we have been unable to fund raise for 2 years now so this will be an incredibly important day to enable us to raise money so we can continue to support the people of Herefordshire as well as national callers. Every pound counts so if every supporter could donate just a pound this would be a hugely beneficial to us. For those who can’t attend on the day but who still want to support us then use the link below to donate direct to the Hereford Branch. Thank you so much we really do appreciate your help and support.
