A Second Run For 'The Goal' At The Courtyard

The Original Poster

The Courtyard in Hereford are to run 'The Goal' for a week in September. Originally it was performed in October 2018.

A professional Courtyard Production, written by Nick Lane.

“When your heart is the only trick up your sleeve, you can bring a giant to its knees”

This inspiring and funny coming of age story will transport you back to Herefordshire in the 70s. When Corona Pop was just a drink and Hereford’s own Ronnie Radford brought us one of the FA Cup’s greatest ever Giant Killings.

Six kids with passion, belief, and ill-fitting tracksuits, The Goal introduces us to the ball boys – Chris, Bob, Dan, Yorkie, Twig and Brian.

This is their story – of that season on the touchlines at Edgar Street watching their heroes make history. Based on the lives of real Herefordians, fall in love with these charming misfits from all walks of life as they experience the peaks and valleys of friendship.

Six professional actors play a cast of thousands in a bittersweet, nostalgic comedy, filled with 70’s music you know and love.

Whether you’re a theatre fan, a football fan, a Hereford fan or a 70’s fan, there’s something for everyone.
