Hereford's Defending Looked Frail At Times Said Vermiglio.

Chorley's First Goal Came From A Free Kick

In his post match interview Chorley manager Jamie Vermiglio felt he knew what his side had to do in the second half to defeat Hereford.

The Bulls went in 1-0 ahead at the break thanks to a Jaanai Gordon goal.

"It was about riding the conditions and getting through to half time," said Vermiglio.

"At half time it was really apparant what we had to do and that was to be strong and get the ball into the box.

"I thought defensively they looked a little bit frial at times.

"I thought certainly first contact, second contact, we seemed to be the favourites to get.

"As a result of two strong throws we were able to get two goals which built on our excellent free kick which I thought was superb."

Hereford manager Josh Gowling also felt his defence could have done better in the second half.

"We just didn't deal with throw ins," said Gowling.

"We spoke about it at half time dealing with their threats and their throw ins.

"We didn't deal with the first contact. They just wanted to head the ball more than we did from the initial throw.

"That's why we lost the game.

"You look at the two goals and they are pretty much identical.

"The first contact is dropped down, he's had time, he's turned and finished. It's criminal.

"If we want to get to where we want to go, we can't be doing things like that.

"At the end of the day you score two goals away from home you expect to win the game."
