Have Chester Breached Covid Regulations?

It's been reported that North Wales Police are making enquiries about whether Chester City have breached Covid regulations.

It appears that because their ground is partly in Wales, Welsh Covid rules may apply.

And in Wales only up to 50 people are currently allowed at outdoor events.

Chester had gates of over 2000 at their last two home games.

However although the pitch is in Wales, the office is in England and Chester come under the English FA.

According to WalesOnline a Welsh Government spokesperson said: "Chester Football Club’s stadium is in Wales therefore Welsh regulations apply.

"As the enforcing authorities Flintshire County Council and North Wales Police are dealing with the matter."

Chester chairman Andrew Morris feels his club has followed all the rules.

"Our club continues to follow the latest guidance from the government, Cheshire West and Chester Council, and the Football Association."
