Hodgkiss Missed Curzon Game Because Of Injury

Hereford captain Jared Hodgkiss missed yesterday's game against Curzon Ashton. He suffered an injury in training last Thursday.

"We had training Thursday and he went down," said manager Josh Gowling.

"A bit of a tackle and he landed on someone's boot.

"We're assessing his knee at the moment.

"Hopefully it's nothing serious but we don't know yet.

"I just thought we missed him a bit today."

There's no game for Hereford next week, will you have a friendly?

"We don't know yet, the lads looked a bit tired today for me in the second half. They've had a good go at it the last seven, five wins, one draw, one loss which is pretty good going.

"That can take a mental toll sometimes so it's good to kind of refresh and recharge the batteries so we might look at that given the Christmas period is relentless."

Gowling was also asked about Nykah Lisburd-Hines who wasn't present. An un-named keeper from the Under 18's took part in the warm up.

"We are very much looking at bringing the next generation of lads through. We've had Ryan Price and a few of the other boys in during first team games. We want to get him out there to get a feel of what it's like to be here.

"So he warmed up keeper Brandon Hall and finished with a bit of shot-stopping against the boys.

"Finance wise we can't have two keepers so at the moment probably not, we'll see how that goes, ideally we would have two keepers but it just might give one of the young lads the opportunity to come and step up."
