Hereford captain Jared Hodgkiss spoke to the local media after this afternoon's FA Trophy tie. The former Kidderminster player was disappointed with the result which saw Harriers progress to the third round but pleased to be playing next Tuesday to hopefully put this defeat behind them.
"We played a lot better second halfperformance wise," said Hodgkiss.
"Obviously the result is disappointing but penalties are a bit of a lottery.
"Conditions were difficult first half. The sun was really low. I'm not making excuses at the end of the day as we were not good enough.
"Second half was a lot better performance wise, I think you could tell that. I think if we had played five or ten minutes longer we might have nicked a winner.
"Quite a few players, even the technical players were losing control of the ball and that. It was difficult but I think 1-1 was a fair result but penalties are a lottery.
"We'll dust ourselves off and go again against Kettering on Tuesday.
"Take away penalties and that's five unbeaten for us.
"And again here on Tuesday under the lights it will be a good game and a good chance to put another win on the board."
There wasn't much to choose between the two sides despite Kidderminster being higher in the League.
"I felt that we didn't have the rub of the green the first eight games or so, we were better than other teams but just didn't get the results.
"The last four or five we've managed to get the results to go along with the performances so long may that continue."
So no Trophy final for Hereford this season.
"It's difficult because you want to get to Wembley again and then win it. Because you've got that hunger to.
"And I think you could tell second half that the boys had that hunger but it just wasn't to be.
"So your attention straight away as soon as the manager has finished his talk is about Kettering Tuesday.
"We're lucky we've got a game Tuesday to put this one behind us and go again."
