Alex Mitchell Could Not Keep Out Ryan Mclean's Deflected Shot.
Blyth Spartans manager Michael Nelson was disappointed that Hereford took the lead in the first half of tonight's game with a deflected shot but admitted that the Bulls second goal was from a mistake.
Blyth left their base at 11am this morning and won't get home until around 4am. In reality midweek evening matches for teams travelling all that distance need to be avoided whenever possible.
"I thought it was much better first half," said Nelson.
"I thought we competed really well, created some good attacking threats in the final third but got done by a deflected shot. They had one more good chance in the first half, a header at the back stick.
"Apart from that I thought we did well.
"Second half we went out and tried to do more of the same, stay in the game and really push on and try and get an equaliser.
"But I'm not happy with their second goal at all. It's a sickener really, just gave them a chance to wind the clock down and see the game out.
"They haven't had to work for their second goal, we haven't cleared our lines properly."
