Mitch Hancox made his first appearance for York City in his loan spell from Hereford last Saturday. York defeated Blyth Spartans 4-0.
Afterwards manager Steve Watson spoke about how well he had fitted into his squad.
"I thought Mitch came in and looked comfortable," said Watson.
"It looked like he knew the lads inside out although he had only met them an hour and a half before the game.
"It's good to be able to bring someone in with his experience. It settled everybody down a little bit.
"No matter where he is at at the moment, I've known him for a long, long time.
"Even though he is not playing regularily for his parent club (Hereford) I knew he would come in and be comfortable and I knew I could rely on him.
"It's exactly what we needed."
