At half-time during last Saturday's fixture between Alfreton and Hereford there was an annoucement on the stadium tannoy regarding an alleged racist comment.
The annoucement did not say which end of the pitch any comment came from nor at whom it might have been aimed.
Hereford manager Josh Gowling spoke to one of the four police officers at the game shortly after the final whistle.
"I wanted to know what had gone on," said Gowling.
"If it was our fans, we've got black players in our team, we won't stand for that.
"If that is the case, I want to know who it is and we'll ban him from the club for life.
"We're not going to tolerate that behaviour at this football club."
The four police officers in the ground were near the majority of Hereford supporters for most of the game.
It's thought they were from the West Mercia force.
Neither of the two BN reporters at the game heard any racist comments.
