Hereford FC are set to announce the name of their new football secretary this coming week. Understood to be 'locally based' he was appointed a while ago but could not start immediately.
Former HFA Chief Jim Lambert (pictured above) has been carrying out the duties of secretary since Martin Watson was forced to quit after problems with players contracts.
The FA launched an investigation into what happened with the contracts but, as far as is known, has not made any public comment so far.
Yesterday was Lambert's final game and in the match programme club chairman Jon Hale thanked him for his work.
"On behalf of the Board of Directors I want to thank Jim for stepping up to the plate at short notice and carrying out his duties with aplomb.
"With Jim's extensive knowledge and experience of football on both a local and wider spectrum, the club have been fortunate to have him step in.
"We are grateful that we will continue to support our new secretary during the handover and beyond.
"Jim is always keen to help and I hope he continues to enjoy his football at Edgar Street."
