Hereford's Goalscorers - Ryan Bowman and Will Evans - Pictured After Their 3-1 Win Against Shrewsbury In The FA Cup In 2012 |
With the temperature set to reach 30C at Edgar Street this afternoon, it's probably a blessing that the friendly against Shrewsbury does not kick off until 7.45pm. Although even at that time it's expected that the temperature will still be around 26C.
So the friendly may be more about who can stand the heat better than score the most goals.
Shrewsbury didn't play last Saturday. Their fixture at Tamworth was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
As regards Hereford, they travelled to Redditch and drew 1-1. The game was played in very warm conditions on a plastic pitch.
Afterwards manager Josh Gowling spoke about the Shrewsbury friendly. He said that Brandon Hall would be back in the squad after he wasn't at Redditch.
"We're going to have to work hard to make sure we get a win," said Gowling.
He's also looking forward to a return of supporters to Edgar Street this evening.
"I think they'll bring a few and we'll have quite a few so it will be great to hear the fans roaring and wishing the lads on. It will be a great occasion."
Finally Shrewsbury may have former Hereford United striker Ryan Bowman leading their line this evening.
