Hereford manager Josh Gowling felt that this afternoon's pre-season friendly at Redditch was 'a good fitness session'. The game played on a plastic pitch in very hot conditions ended 1-1.
Miles Storey played upfront as Joey Butlin had a slight groin niggle.
"He was excellent, good in the air, came off the lines well, got a couple of shots on," said Gowling.
"Ryan McLean is magical when he picks the ball up but probably not the best surface for him as it was difficult to drive but he did really well.
"It wasn't the most thrilling game in the world but we did have our little spells when we broke quite quick. It's work in progress.
Second half included a number of trialists including Maziar Kouyar and the return of Tom Owen-Evans.
"He's been out for a long time, he had his trials and tribulations at Walsall, and he's really hungary to impress and get a contract here.
"We put Tom down the middle because he's only trained once so far so we didn't want to put him out wide where he would have to do a lot of work on a day like today. He did okay."
Brandon Hall didn't feature today but Gowling said he would be back for Tuesday's game against Shrewsbury.
"He'll be back in training on Monday."
