The proposers of the request for the National League to hold an EGM was submitted to the League's general manager, Mark Ives, yesterday. Maidstone and Dorking, who initiated the request, were backed by a further 15 clubs.
The aim of the clubs is to hold a vote of no confidence in the League's chairman and his board. However the chairman Brian Barwick has already confirmed he is to step down at the end of the season.
The former chairman of Darlington has died. A onetime safe-cracker, George Reynolds spent £20M on building a new stadium for the club in 1999. However the club went into administration five years later.
