Barwick Set To Stand Down

Brian Barwick is expected to stand down as chairman of the National League at the end of the season according to press reports.

It's claimed he has lost support of 'key allies' on the League Board.

Recently the Board agreed to end the National North and South Leagues after a 24-19 vote by clubs. However a few of these clubs are now challenging the decision.

Another potential problem has been a decision of 19 clubs to consider forming a new League.

But the biggest contention is the way the League distributed funds from the £10M Government package which many clubs thought would be done according to attendances. The League has still not said why they funded clubs in the way they did with some clubs receiving double they would have made from tickets sales, others such as Hereford, much less.
