Will Hereford Travel To Bradford On Saturday?

Hereford FC are set to travel to Bradford Park Avenue for a National North League fixture on Saturday afternoon.

If the game does go ahead it will be the first time Hereford have played a League game since January 2nd when they drew 1-1 at Kidderminster.

What are the chances of it taking place?

A week ago Bradford PA put out a statement which said they were not playing any more games until the result of the 'Vote' was known.

We have written to the board and advised them that until the votes are all in and counted and final decision on the season continuing has been made, we wont be playing any further matches, in the short term this means our games at home this Saturday against Farsley and next Tuesday away at Blythe will not be taking place with a team from Bradford (Park Avenue).

However there has been no update from Bradford specifically mentioning the Hereford fixture.

They will be aware that the National League has sent letters to clubs who postponed games last Tuesday and the previous Saturday without good reason such as a Covid problem or bad weather. Those clubs could face some sort of disciplinary action.

Hereford are currently showing the game as going ahead so, at the time of writing, it appears they haven't heard anything to suggest the game might not be played.

However the weather may come to the rescue of Bradford. It looks like there will be a frost on Friday evening and there is a Met Office warning for snow and ice on Saturday.

Bradford would probably prefer the game to be called off because of the weather than face possible action against them for simply not wanting to play.

Update: It has been confirmed that Saturday's game is off. More details here.
