It Feels Like A Loss Says Grimes

Hereford defender Jamie Grimes spoke to BBC Hereford and Worcester after this afternoon's 2-2 home draw with Chorley FC. It's was an exciting end to the game for any neutrals watching but not for Hereford fans.

"It was not what we wanted," said Grimes.

"We went one up and we wanted to see it out and get the 1-0 win, we've been pretty good at that this season.

"In the end it feels like a loss to be honest. It was an exciting end for the neutral but not for us, we wanted to win the game.

"They got their goal, they got their second goal, in the end I thought we did well to get the point which at home we want to win games and we thought we should have won today.

"We changed the way we kicked, we kicked down the hill, tried to get at them early and I think we did that without scoring a goal in the first half.

"It was really disappointing our second half. Although we scored first we can't be conceeding two goals in a half.

"Fair play to them, they went 1-0 down and they changed the way they played. They started playing and cut us open really. When we go a goal up we've got to be able to see the game out, we've got to have a bit of composure."

Grimes was asked about Chorley's first goal.

"We've had our conversations about that. We're not happy about it. It felt like no-one really got tight, it wasn't good enough really so we need to go to the training ground and work on it so it doesn't happen again."

Any positives?

"Giles Coke is good, he never gives the ball away and gives us that experience in there. He did well today.

"Positive as well was that we scored from a set piece, we looked dangerous from set pieces I think and that's something we've been working on in training so we want to score a few more..

"We want to win our home games, we went ahead. Even when we were drawing we felt like we should be winning the game. Coming away with a point felt like two points dropped.

"We're disappointed but we've got a full week of training to put it right for Kettering next week.

"We feel we've been the better team in all the games but it's just getting that goal, getting that first win and then getting on top of teams. We need to make this place a fortress really. We haven't quite done that so far.

"It's been a really strange start to the season. We play and we get a game called off and then we're playing again. We've not really got any rhythm so this is our chance to get a few games in a run and hopefully get a few results."
