The majority of National League North clubs (81%) don't want the season to start without fans or financial support.
A Zoom meeting was held by most of the member clubs at 5.30pm yesterday (Wednesday) ahead of today's National League board meeting.
There seems to be concern about the impact of the FA Cup Second Qualifying Round on October 3 and the contractual status of players. Most contracts begin 'on the commencement of the football season', so if the FA Cup matches take place on that day, clubs will be contractually obliged to pay the players for the rest of the season. However, if clubs cannot play in front of fans or there is no financial support in place, the impact will be huge. You can read the joint letter below.
