'During the close season a lot of work has gone into improving the already good playing surface at Wellington.
The pitch has been reseeding, verti-drained, top dressed with specialized sports sand and treated with a slow release fertiliser.
As always the main contribution to improving the surface is regular mowing and brushing which has been done two or three times a week throughout the shutdown.'
