The team from Hereford's first league game

As reported earlier, today marks five years since Hereford FC's first competitive game - a 4-1 home win over Dunkirk in the Midland Premier League. Below is the team from that day and where they've been since.

Harvey Rivers

The Bulls' first ever keeper was playing for Westfields last season, the club he played for previously before joining Hereford. However, he left mid-way through the campaign to join the Gold Coast Knights in Australia.

Max Kontic Covenay

One of Pete Beadle's first signings, the right back joined Pershore in 2018.

Nathan Summers

The centre back had two spells with Hereford during the 2015/16 season before playing for Westfields via Frome. He has also played for Evesham and was with Bodmin last season.

Tony James

The popular former Hereford United defender left early in the 2015/16 season and was replaced by Jamie Willets. He is now Head of Football & Athletic Development at Hereford Cathedral School.

Joel Edwards

The Hereford-born left-back was Hereford's first ever captain, but left after the 2016/17 season. He went on to star for Cardiff Met in the Welsh Premier League and played for them in the Europa League qualification stages. Edwards has signed for Westfields, a former club of his, ahead of the new season.

Ben Miller

Another product of Pete Beadle's youth team, Miller is a mainstay of the Westfields team and has signed on again ahead of the new season.

Rob Purdie

After starring for Hereford United, Purdie was also instrumental in Hereford FC's success. However, following a third promotion, Purdie decided to retire and is now a firefighter.

Aaron Birch

Pulling the strings alongside Purdie, Birch was key to Hereford's dominance in the first season. However, Birch decided to leave the club in September 2016 and went on to play for a number of clubs in the West Midlands. Birch was with Worcester last season.

John Mills

The hat-trick hero from the Dunkirk game, Mills went on to score over 100 clubs for the new club. However, the Oxfordshire-based marksman left the club in the summer of 2018 after Hereford were placed in National League North. A move to Bath didn't work out and Mills ended up back in the Midland League with Westfields, via a loan spell at Banbury. Mills is now with Banbury on a permanent basis.

Pablo Haysham

Mills' key strike partner, Haysham left alongside Mills due to the amount of travelling he would have had to do in National League North. Haysham is also now with Banbury following spells at Salisbury and a loan stint at Didcot, whom Hereford signed him from.

Soloman Wheatley

Wheatley was only with Hereford until November 2015. He has now linked up with Nathan Summers at Bodmin Town.

Subs used

Dylan Bonella

Another former Hereford youth player under Beadle, Bonella was released at the end of the 2015/16 season. He then played for Westfields but is understood to have quit football.

Adam Page

Page joined Hereford on loan from Cheltenham and instantly made an impression. He ended up back with the Bulls, again on loan from the Robins, two years later before joining Gloucester. He joined Rushall Olympic in December 2018.
