The FSA have issued the following statement after the news about Droylsden.
“The FSA believes that decisive leadership is required from Government if we are to avoid seeing a growing number of clubs going to the wall due to financial uncertainties.
“The football authorities have been pressing Government for weeks to make a decision about when supporters can be allowed back in to watch matches. Lower league football and many other sports cannot survive without spectators in grounds, playing behind closed doors is not an option.
“Recent FSA surveys of clubs and supporters confirm that everyone places public safety is the main priority but the lack of a confirmed date for fans being allowed into grounds will lead to job losses and dozens of clubs folding.”
