The last game played at Hereford's home was against Altrincham on February 29th so it's six months since groundsman Ben Bowen has had to prepare the surface.
Hereford lost the game 2-0 and our match reporter that day, Son of Eric, was critical of the performance.
'The poorest performance under Gowling by
some way with little width and not as much passion, Finn making little
difference when he came on. Altrincham are a well-run club playing good
football with less resources than Hereford but they’re fifth from top
and Hereford look to finish fifth from bottom.'
And his final sentence summed up how many felt at 4.50pm that afternoon.
'The sooner this season is over, and Hereford can start again the better.'
The line-up that day was: Hall, Hodgkiss (C), Thomas, Pollock, Anderson, Riley, Jagger Cane, Owen-Evans, John-Lewis, Liburd, Mooney.
Subs: Davies, O'Sullivan, Ash, Finn, Pope
