It was announced earlier today that striker Lenell John-Lewis has joined Hereford FC.
He was released by Shrewsbury last month.
Now 30, John-Lewis has been mentioned in BN match reports and new items several times over the past thirteen years.
A look back.
It was December 2007 when John-Lewis was playing for Lincoln that his name first appeared on BN. He was a sub in a 3-1 win for the Bulls.
Lennel
John-Lewis was bought on for Forrester, as Lincoln added some more pace
to their wings, in order to try and find another equaliser.
March 2008:
Hereford United were in the Division Two promotion race at the time and had travelled to Lincoln for a Monday afternoon fixture which they lost 2-1.
In the five
minutes of stoppage time, Hereford continued to press, leaving them
prone to the counter, and Lenell John-Lewis took advantage, by going on a
fantastic run, past two defenders before shooting towards the top
corner. It took a fine diving save from W. Brown to deny him as he
pushed the ball onto the crossbar.
February 2010:
A 2-0 win for Hereford over Grimsby at Edgar Street
Adam Bartlett was called to action in claiming a direct free kick on
goal when under pressure, and shortly afterwards watching an effort by
Lennel John-Lewis, an opponent who is surely never undersold, to
narrowly clear the bar.
May 2010:
Lincoln have transfer listed Lenell John-Lewis and Shane Clarke, and placed Danny Hone on the loan list.
Later that month Lincoln have released striker Lennel John-Lewis by mutual consent after agreeing a termination to his contract.
August 2010:
Bury
have signed striker Lenell John-Lewis on a one year deal. The former
Lincoln man spent four years at Sincil Bank, but started just 43 League
games in that time.
March 2011:
John-Lewis was a used sub for Bury in their 3-1 win over Hereford at Edgar Street.
January 2013:
Grimsby - In - Lenell John-Lewis (FW) from Bury, free.
October 2013:
Grimsby striker
Lenell John-Lewis has been told his foot injury is not a broken bone
and he is likely to be out for weeks rather than months. The former Bury
man missed last Saturday's loss to Salisbury with the problem.
March 2014:
An evening game at Grimsby which ended 1-1.
Apart from a couple of darting runs by Hannah, the hosts
hadn’t posed much of a threat until Lenell John-Lewis cleverly got in front of
Dom Collins to draw the contact and went down to win a penalty which Hannah
dispatched past Danny Lloyd-Weston to give The Mariners the lead on 16 minutes.
March 2014:
Grimsby defeat Hereford 2-1.
On the stroke of 90 minutes,
Leadbitter was yet again target of a bad Grimsby foul. Lenell John-Lewis
was then shown a yellow card after a forceful challenge which saw both
players receive treatment.
