Steve Burr, Hereford's assistant interim manager, felt that his side was unlucky not to take something from this afternoon's game at Alfreton which the Bulls lost 2-0.
"I thought we did everything but score," Burr told the local media.
"I thought we played some good stuff on a difficult pitch, difficult conditions, same for Alfreton.
"They were up and at us with their style of football.
"What we have done today is create a lot of chances but you have to put those chances away when they come your way.
"It's disappointing obviously when you lose but I've seen a lot of good signs with what Josh has been doing, putting the time and effort in looking at the opposition and everything we are doing on the training ground but it takes time.
"I know it's a results driven business but we seen good signs over the last couple of weeks and I just thought today we could have been out there now and maybe not scored."
Alfreton only had two decent chances but they scored from both.
"The first one was against the run of play and it was a great strike. You can't do anything about that.
"The second one, we've come out second half and we're in their half trying to score, they've broke and they've scored. It was a bit of a kick in the teeth. These things happen in football.
"I thought we did okay today and the signs have been reasonably good but there is a long way to go with the squad we've got here. They are giving some everything they can.
"That bit of quality that we are lacking in the final third is the difference between winning and not winning matches."
Would Burr like to bring in another striker?
"That's down to the Gaffer and what the club can do but I know when I arrived we were talking about trying to bring a front man in."
What did Burr think about defender Jevan Anderson's first start for the club?
"I though he did very well on his debut, coming in cold not knowing any of the lads.
"I've seen him a few times this season.
"He's a young lad who hasn't been playing much at Burton, he's been in and around the squad.
"He does well for us, we look to keep him until the end of the season or Burton take him back
"The other side of that is that he comes in and doesn't do as well as we had hoped for and then we can look elsewhere.
"He'a cracking lad, I know a lot about him and he's got a great desire and hunger to show us why he's at Burton."
