Winning High Balls Was A Problem For Hereford |
Bottom of the league Bradford PA are the visitors to Edgar Street next Saturday and manager Russell Slade knows that Hereford can't afford to lose this game.
Yesterday Kidderminster lost to Blyth Spartans who are 21st in the table just eight points below the Bulls with a game in hand.
"We always want to do well in front of our own fans," said Slade.
"My slight concern at home is that we've drawn one or two games we should have won. If we can turn them into wins then I think we're as solid as any top six or seven team.
"Whoever it is we'll be looking to get a win in front of our own fans."
Going back to the Gateshead game Slade was asked if he felt Hereford played too many long balls out of defence.
"Not really, no not really. Sometimes the ball has to go forward quickly and it's probably the type of long ball that was played forward.
"Sometimes it needs to be played down or beyond, beyond the cente-half, when you've got pace that somebody like Victor who can out-run center-halves and get in behind them. You need that pace in behind sometimes.
"And I think it's sometimes the quality of the long ball rather the amount of long ball."
