REPORT: Replay at Edgar Street after Bulls draw with Tamworth

Hereford and Tamworth will have to do it all over again after drawing 0-0 in this afternoon’s FA Cup Third Qualifying Round match.

Tamworth – who play their trade in Southern Premier League Central, one tier below National League North - matched the Bulls throughout the game, although twice the Bulls hit the crossbar via headers. Russell Slade’s side will now fancy their chances of getting the job done in the replay at Edgar Street on Tuesday.

Slade named an unchanged line up from the team that beat Leamington in midweek, with new signing Ben Pollock on the bench.

Rhys Davies was also a named substitute, as was back-up keeper Warren Burwood. However, there was no place in the squad for Reece Styche.

For Tamworth, ex-Hereford United player Bilal Yaffai was on the bench.

Jordan Nicholson With A Strike Nine Minutes Into The Game.
Both teams had chances to open the scoring in an even first half. Jordan Nicholson – who has been in scintillating form for Hereford as of yet – saw a deflected shot saved in the ninth minute, while Aaron Forde blazed over from a good position four minutes before the break after a short corner routine found him on the edge of the box.

Hereford brought on Brad Ash in the 56th minute in an attempt to bring more pace to the side and almost took the lead 13 minutes later.

However, Josh Gowling’s looping header from a corner clipped the top of the bar.

Rowan Liburd then entered the fray in the 73rd minute in place of Peter Vincenti, but it was
Tamworth who looked the more threatening.

Nevertheless, despite having plenty of possession, Hereford were able to nullify their attacks and Brandon Hall had little to do in the Bulls goal.

Hereford survived a goalmouth scramble towards the end, while Liburd saw a header tipped onto the bar by Tamworth keeper Jas Singh in stoppage time.
