The number 13 might be unlucky for some, but not for
Hereford who hammered Hinton 13-0 in the Herefordshire FA County Challenge Cup.
Nine of the goals came in the final 20 minutes, with
centre-half Jason Pope bagging a hat-trick.
Hereford made a number of changes for the game, with some
under-18 players named in the squad.
Two trialists started; Australian midfielder Daniel Alessi, and Richard Whittingham, who was last with Hungerford.
Hinton – who ply their trade in the Herefordshire FA County
Premier League – kept Hereford at bay during the opening stages before
youngster Morgan Evans opened the scoring in the 24th minute.
Pope then scored his first goal in the 39th minute before Evans added another just before the break.
Brad Ash made it 4-0 six minutes into the second half, but Hereford had to wait until the 70th minute to score again, this time through Pope.
