Atmosphere Could Be Electric Says Smith

Hereford United Supporters At Tamworth In April 2014
The atmosphere at the FA Cup game between Tamworth and Hereford could be electric says Lambs joint manager Gary Smith.

“They will have fans coming here and our own supporters have been fantastic this season," Smith told the Tamworth Herald.

“My message to our fans is ‘bring some brilliant songs and let’s get The Lamb rocking.

"We want to make it a special place this weekend. It’s the magic of the FA Cup after all.

“I don’t think some of our younger boys will have played in such a big game as this and I want them to lap it up, the occasion. I’m sure the fans will inspire them. They can be our 12th man.

“People will say we are underdogs and that’s fine, but we won’t have any fear. We know we can go into the tie and match them and give them a good game. The boys won’t need any motivating for this one. The game speaks for itself in terms of magnitude.

“We just want them to go out and express themselves as they have been doing and we’ll see where that takes us. There’s no reason why we can’t pull off a cup upset.”

Meanwhile Hereford manager Russell Slade has admitted it is 'a difficult cup tie'.

“I’ve said before, but it’s true, I love a little cup run! It’s such a great competition! Anything can happen in the FA Cup and that’s what makes it so special," said Slade as reported on the Hereford OS.

“We’ve got to go into the game with the same intent and desire that we had at Leamington on Tuesday evening. Tamworth are having a good season and they will be looking to keep their cup run going, just as we are.”
